What is a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)?
PHP is an ASAM Level 2.5 structured treatment program. It's more intensive than outpatient, and you don't live at a facility. At Blue Heart Services, PHP includes group and individual counseling, case management, peer support, nursing, medication management, psychiatric services, toxicology, and ongoing treatment planning and ASAM-level review.
How is PHP different from inpatient rehab?
Unlike inpatient, PHP does not require you to live at a facility. You attend structured programming during the day and return home in the evenings, so you stay close to family and start settling back into daily life while you get intensive clinical support.
How is PHP different from IOP?
PHP (Level 2.5) is more intensive than IOP (Level 2.1) with more hours of structured programming per week, and is appropriate for individuals who need a higher level of clinical support. Your ASAM level is reviewed regularly and your care steps down as you progress.
