Random toxicology testing integrated across all Blue Heart Services treatment levels — up to twice weekly in PHP and withdrawal management, typically weekly in outpatient — with results incorporated directly into treatment planning.

GeneSight Pharmacogenomic Testing

GeneSight testing at Blue Heart Services follows a psychiatric evaluation to identify how your genetic profile may affect responses to psychiatric medications, supporting more personalized treatment planning.

Peer Recovery Support

Certified Peer Recovery Supporters at Blue Heart Services draw on lived experience to help clients develop recovery skills, build support networks, navigate challenges, engage in treatment, and sustain long-term recovery.

How ASAM Levels of Care Work

The ASAM (American Society of Addiction Medicine) criteria match you to the right level of care based on your clinical needs — not a one-size-fits-all intake. As you progress, your care team reviews your level continuously and steps your program up or down based on where you are.

  1. Level 2
Ambulatory Withdrawal Management — Community-based outpatient detox with nursing assessments, vital monitoring, medication management, and physician/NP oversight. No hospital admission required.
  2. Level 2.5
Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) — The most intensive outpatient level. Structured daily programming with group and individual counseling, nursing, psychiatric services, and case management.
  3. Level 2.1
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) — Multiple sessions per week structured around work and family. Individual counseling, peer support, psychiatric services, and nursing available as needed.
  4. Level 1.0
Outpatient Program — Ongoing clinical support for clients with greater recovery stability. Counseling, case management, MAT, psychiatric services, and peer support continue at this level.
